Safety Cloud® is compatible with the GO7, GO8, and GO9 OBDII telematic devices. These devices do not include auxiliary cables unless ordered from the reseller at the time of the original order. An auxiliary cable is required to connect warning lights. This can be the IOX-AUXM or the IOX-WRKS cable. Each cable allows for up to four auxiliary connections and may be daisy-chained for up to eight auxiliary options.
To connect the auxiliary cable to the GO device, please refer to these Geotab instructions, which are also listed below.
- Unplug the GO device from the OBDII port and remove the IOX expansion port cover on the device.
- Insert the USB plug from the IOX-cable into the expansion port on the side of the GO device. Use a zip tie to secure the connection. Overtightening the zip tie may damage the USB connector.
- Connect one of the four auxiliary wires to the warning/emergency light switch.
- Once the warning/emergency light switch is connected to an auxiliary wire and the IOX cable is connected to the GO device, reattach the GO device to the OBDII port and immediately start the vehicle. This will place the GO device into DEBUG mode.
- While the GO device is in DEBUG mode, trigger the warning/emergency lights so the IOX cable learns the input. Once the IOX cable learns an input, the GO device emits a number of beeps corresponding to the auxiliary number. For proper configuration, you must hear the beeps when the warning lights are triggered both ON AND OFF (e.g., Aux 4 sounds two beeps when triggered ON and then two beeps when triggered OFF). Repeat this step until the corresponding beeps are heard on BOTH trigger ON and trigger OFF.
Warning: Any of the auxiliary wires may be used to connect to the warning lights. However, please make sure that the same wire (color/number) is used on each vehicle. For example, if Aux 4/White is used on Vehicle 1, use Aux 4/White on subsequent vehicles.
