The purpose of a Group in NetCloud Manager is twofold:
- Upload the HAAS Alert SDK application to the routers in that Group
- Apply standard configuration settings to every router in that Group
This speeds up setup, especially for fleets with multiple devices, because you only need to configure the Group once, and all the routers assigned to it automatically inherit those settings.
Tip: If "Groups" are already used in NetCloud Manager, you may be able to reuse an existing one. Check with your network administrator.
Required Group Configuration
Each router in the Group must receive the following HAAS Alert-related configuration:
- HAAS Alert application configuration settings
- Router GPIO default settings
- Location Services (must be enabled)
For small fleets, a single Group is often sufficient. Vehicle type can be updated in the HAAS Alert Safety Cloud Dashboard.
For large fleets, we recommend creating separate Groups for vehicles with different operational profiles, such as:
- Fire apparatus group
- Ambulance group
- Utility group
Your HAAS Alert integration specialist will provide you with a recommendation.
Tip: If you have different router models, create a separate Group for each model.
Tip: If your routers have different NetCloud OS versions, upgrade them to the same version. Otherwise you will need to create a separate group for each NetCloud OS version.
Create a Group
- In the main menu on the left, click Groups
- Click + Add in the top left to create a new group
- Enter a Group name (e.g., "haasalert", or "haasalert-fire", "haasalert-ems" for multiple Groups)
- Select your router model (e.g., IBR900 or R980) for the Product field
- Select the NetCloud OS version the routers are using - If the routers use different NetCloud OS versions, upgrading them to the same version is recommended
- Choose Standard for the NetCloud OS Type
- Click Save
